Tenant fees & charges
In line with the Tenant Fees Act 2019, we do not charge tenants administration, referencing, inventory or renewal fees. The only payments a tenant makes are:
- A holding deposit of no more than one week’s rent, credited against the first rent payment
- A security deposit of no more than five weeks’ rent, protected in a government-approved scheme
- Rent, and utilities, council tax and communication services where the tenancy makes the tenant responsible
- Permitted default charges — a replacement key, or interest on rent more than fourteen days late
Landlord fees are set out in full on the landlord services page and confirmed in writing before marketing begins.
Complaints procedure
If something has gone wrong, tell us and we will put it right. Write to the office manager at info@lewisestateagents.co.uk or by post to 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ.
We acknowledge every complaint in writing within three working days and complete our investigation within fifteen working days, sending you a written outcome. If you remain dissatisfied after our final response, you may refer the matter to an independent property redress scheme, which will consider it free of charge. Details of the scheme we belong to are displayed in the office and provided with our final response.
Privacy & cookies
We collect only what we need to provide the service you have asked for: your name, contact details, property requirements and, where a tenancy or sale proceeds, the identity and financial information required by law.
We do not sell your data or pass it to third parties for marketing. We share it only with parties necessary to the transaction — referencing providers, deposit schemes, contractors attending your property, and solicitors acting on the matter. Enquiry records are held for two years from your last contact; tenancy and sale files are held for six years, as required for tax and legal purposes.
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. You may ask us at any time for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or erase it, by emailing info@lewisestateagents.co.uk.
